Minelab SEF Coil : Looking for an SEF Coil for your Minelab Metal Detector? I do not think I have ever read a bad review of the SEF metal detector coils. They are quite sensitive and go very deep. I personally use the 18x15 SEF Coil. As big as this coil is, I can dial around just fine in the heavy trash. Smaller coils in the trash are nice, but, the SEF coils perform great in all areas. I have also used my SEF coil with great success in the sand on the freshwater beach, as well as the imported fine sand in the volleyball courts.
14-15 Inch Depth is my record on a coin (penny) with the big SEF Coil. This on a freshwater beach through nine inches of sand and another half a foot of clay.
