May 30, 2009 Minelab X-Terra 305 Metal Detector : Minelab X-Terra 305 Rocks. Let me tell you why I personally purchased this metal detector. The new X-Terra 305, 505 & 705 came out in April of 2009. The previous models in this line were the X-terra 30, 50 & 70. In that line of detectors, you really had to save for the 50 or 70 to get a good one. With the recent release of this series, you get most of the features of last year's Xterra 70 in the 305 model. Now you have 6 coil choices, Vflex technology, a huge amount of tones, manual and auto ground balance and good depth. Now people that paid twice as much money for the Xterra 70 last year are wondering why they packed so much in to the 305. While I was lurking through the metal Detecting forums for testimonials and opinions on the 305, I noticed there are a few xterra 70 users that have recently purchased a 305. They are all saying they like it just as much, if not better. That is why I bought one. I have never felt stronger about making the best decision on a purchase. The Minelab X-terra is eight hundred dollars worth of performance for half the price. What you want is the "BONUS" package. It comes with free digger, carry bag, cover, bags and other accessories. Sweetest deal I have ever seen.
